Chocolate Covered Strawberries Recipe Ingredients

  • 6 oz of semi-sweet chocolate cut into bits
  • 3 oz white chocolate cut into bits
  • 1 pound strawberries with stems (roughly 20), clean with water and pat dry

Separately place both types of chocolates into two heatproof midsize bowls. Pour a few inches of water into two medium saucepans and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off the stove and then place both bowls of chocolate over the water allowing it to melt. You will need to assist the melting of the chocolate by stirring until you have a smooth texture of chocolate. ( As an alternative, you can choose to melt the chocolate using your microwave over at half power. You will want to microwave for one minute. Pull the bowls out and stir the chocolate, then place back into the microwave for another minute until the chocolate has smoothly melted. 
Once you have both chocolates in a smooth melt, you will need to pull out a sheet pan and line it with wax paper or parchment paper. Pick up the strawberry by the stem and then dip it into the dark chocolate first. As you pull the strawberry out of the chocolate, carefully lift and twist. This will allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. Next, place your chocolate covered strawberries onto the waxed paper. Repeat this process until you have dipped all the strawberries. To give you strawberries a nice look, get a fork and dip it into the white chocolate and drizzle the white chocolate over the dark chocolate dipped strawberries. 
The chocolate covered strawberries should be set aside or placed into the refrigerator for roughly 30 minutes before eating.
